M1836 R. Johnson Flint Pistol |
|
Hard to believe! An unfired attic mint 1855 dated Johnson Model 1842
pistol. Barrel dated 1851 and U.S. stamped with J.H. inspection.
Original uninspected stock (correct) with all finish and feathering.
Brass is untouched. Nipple is perfect as is hammer nose. One of a pair
found in saddle hostlers in North Georgia estate sale. Other had same
date!
Chip out of stock at rear of lock plate. Has not been disassembled
since period of use, if ever. You will be very happy with this pistol. I
suggest it be left as is. Lightly oil iron parts. Not for everyone, but
if you appreciate pristine and untouched, don't delay. Good buy at
$1,475.00
