M1836 R. Johnson Flint Pistol |
|
Dated 1844, this wonderful unfired example will thrill the most
discriminating collector. Virtually untouched, has never been struck by
flint, and appears to have never had one installed in the hammer jaw.
At least 90% original purple, blue and gray case on hammer, lock and
frizzen. Fire blue on all screws, all correct and sharp inspections,
metal lightly cleaned of finger prints. Was probably discovered in
original dried packing grease. Now cleaned to "as new," stock with very
light storage marks, original feathering to walnut grain.
One of the nicest, rarely to come on open market, usually quietly
traded between collectors, to repose peacefully, carefully preserved by
true connoisseurs for future generations to enjoy. Truly reasonable at
$4,250.00
